How To Build Self-Esteem in Children

GladChild: As good mother of course we all know what is best for our children, because every child is unique, they have different needs, different abilities and talents, different qualities. Therefore, most parents understand the child is his own.

However, here are a few tips and tricks that might be useful for parents:

What should be done to build self-esteem in your child:
  • Love your child what it is, with all its pros and cons. Show them that you love him.
  • Be careful with your words, parents are human beings who make mistakes while of course also be angry, but try to always keep your word, because sometimes the words 'drop' can imprint on their hearts.
  • Give praise for their success.
  • Listen to it their stories, give sympathy for the problems they face.
  • Give encouragement to them to think for themselves and do the things they enjoy doing.
  • Give them a chance to do new things, do not rush to offer assistance.
  • Spend time with them, just relax and play, or swapping stories.
  • Give them age-appropriate responsibilities.
  • Teach them accountable for their actions, for example, apologize to your friend when you make a mistake.
Don’t
  • Do not just love him when he's doing things your own.
  • Do not compare children to others.
  • Do not build a catapult criticism, like: You lazy, useless, etc..
  • Do not blame the child for something you do.
