Children's intelligence can be influenced by health care

GladChild: Health is an important factor underlying a person's life. Apparently a child achievement in school was also influenced by the health care they get.

Children who have access to health insurance are healthier and do well in school than children without insurance. Similarly, according to researchers at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC).

This study is the first time in the show directly the health benefits in children with so-called 'children medical home', namely the medical care that is easily accessible, comprehensive, coordinated, family-centered, compassionate and effective cultural.

A children medical home is family-centered as defined by the American Academy of Pediatrics is not a building or service, but approach in providing comprehensive primary care for patients.

Touted as the future of family medicine, medical homes and other patient care models reinforced with health reform after passed into law by the Law on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care or the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 in the U.S..

The study reported in the September issue of the journal Medical Care found that children enrolled in Healthy Kids programs tend to have a regular source of children health care and good handling. Children enrolled in the program for more than a year reported getting the best children medical home care.

Separate study published online by the Health Services Research found children who received home care medical fewer absences in school and get good grades in math and reading.

The researchers surveyed 4011 children from 21 of the 24 programs in the U.S. Healthy Kids, a program that provides affordable health insurance for children from low-income families who do not qualify for state insurance programs. The sample consisted mostly of children of low-income families in Latin America and the majority of Spanish-speaking families.
